Since the COVID-19 pandemic, healthy living and fitness have become an increasingly important part of client’s lives. People are more motivated to eat healthily, exercise and prioritise their mental health to improve their overall wellbeing.

GSK reported that 39% of the UK of the UK said they took their health for granted before the pandemic, and they are more likely to consider their health in day-to-day decision making*. This makes it a great time to speak to clients about private medical insurance and to understand how it can help them in the post-pandemic world.

Your clients health

A third of people in the UK believe that their physical and mental health was worse during and after the pandemic**. However, people looking for care following the pandemic are finding it increasingly difficult to receive the care they need because of NHS waiting times.

The British Medical Association reported that in August 2023, 7.75 million patients were waiting for treatment in England***. It’s the highest number since records began in 2007, and it’s expected to continue to rise.

The combination of a health-conscious population and dissatisfaction with the NHS means that people are turning to private medical insurance to access a wider range of medical services, with little to no wait time.

How National Friendly can help

Our My PMI policies are a great option to consider if your clients are waiting for NHS treatment. My PMI is private medical insurance with 4 levels of cover to suit your clients’ needs.

We’ll be by your clients’ side every step of the way through their medical claims. We’ll make sure they see the most appropriate medical specialist, as soon as possible. We have access to the UK’s leading consultants and deal with all major hospitals.

And they’ll be receiving the right medical treatment at every stage of their claim.

Most levels of My PMI also cover mental health care, some of our policies include an initial psychiatric assessment and up to 10 face-to-face sessions with a counsellor or psychotherapist (per policy year). We’re committed to providing your clients with the support they need.

Having a My PMI policy can provide your clients with peace of mind that they are receiving the best care for them, as quickly as possible, at an affordable price.

Friendly GP

We also offer Friendly GP, our virtual GP service through which your clients have on-demand access to GPs for diagnosis, advice, and treatment to improve general health and wellbeing. It can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This includes telephone and video consultations, private prescriptions, and referrals for further care.

All of these services can be accessed via an online portal, meaning your clients can easily get round the clock advice and care, all day, every day, beating the NHS waiting times.
